I am now employed at West Marine, the world’s largest boating retailer, where I have worked for the last two years as a Front-End Web Developer. I am responsible for coding the user experience on the company’s enterprise-level IBM ecommerce site that features over 65,000 products. I create optimized HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, JSP code that are compatible with all browsers, mobile phones, and tablets. I work with West Marine’s industry-leading marketing team to implement best practices in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) throughout our site. I also collaborate with other developers using careful version control (CVS) and a release process.

I was employed at Sleepless Media for 4 years where I worked on hundreds of websites. As a part of the team, I mostly did PHP Programming, CSS Layout, and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) while Jon and Ben K did most of the overall graphic design. My portfolio is a small sample of the hundreds of websites we worked on.

ExpoImaging

www.expoimaging.net

Expodisc

ExpoImaging is a California-based company specializing in cutting-edge products and accessories for professional photographers, most notably, the “ExpoDisc” lens filter system. This company ships orders everyday all over the world using their online store. At Sleepless Media we setup an entirely new CMS driven website integrated with an online store. As part of the team, I did a lot of CSS layout and later custom PHP programming, search engine optimization, and some security work.

Santa Cruz Blues Festival

Santa Cruz Blues Festival

The Santa Cruz Blues Festival is a huge annual music festival that’s been going on for the last 15 years. They recruited Sleepless Media for a full website redesign. They wanted a more unique and updated online presence, and even more importantly, something functional and easy-to-use.

Om Gallery

Om Gallery

Om Gallery is one of our long-standing clients, and with their website reaching almost 5 years old, it was time for a full website redesign, eCommerce upgrade and CMS overhaul.

The company has multiple retail outlets specializing in amazing asian-style lighting, clothing and decor. We wanted to create a design that could show off the beauty of their merchandise on screen. The resulting design is a rich showcase of their products and services, and the website features thousands of products available to purchase online.

Moes Alley

Moes Alley, Santa Cruz

Moe’s Alley is one of the most popular music venues in Santa Cruz, and for good reason: they’ve been bringing legendary bands and artists into this small town for years and years. They signed up with us to give them a new website from top to bottom, so that’s what we did. We took over web hosting and email responsibilities, designed a new graphic interface and programmed a custom content managment system so they can update the site themselves. The site also features PHPList for email marketing and show listings.

Petite Provence

Petite Provence

Petite Provence is a retail outlet based in Santa Cruz, California featuring table linens and fine household accessories, all made in France.

They came to us to update their web presence for their growing retail business, and to add e-commerce functionality to the site in order to sell their products on the web. We decided to completely redesign the site to give it a clean and modern look. The shopping cart required some specific features and functionality, so we developed and programmed a completely custom php cart from the ground up based on their specifications. The cart features a full administration system so they can manage products, customers and all of the sections of the site quickly and easily.
